2010-2011 Dates of Importance:

Evaluations Nov. 5 (6-8pm), Nov. 6 (10am-12pm);

Coaches' Training: Nov. 29-30 (6:30pm-8:30pm)

Practice Dates:

Dec. 6,7,9; 13,14,16 (5:30-8:30pm for all practice nights)
Break (NO UPWARD): Dec. 18th – Jan. 2nd.
Jan. 3,4,6; 10,11,13; 17,18,20; 24,25,27; 31
Feb. 1,3; 7,8,10; 14,15,17; 21,22,24

Game Days: Jan. 8,15,22,29; Feb. 5,12,19,26

In today's competitive world sports have become something that are not enjoyable anymore. If you ask most children what is most important to them about being apart of a team, they will tell you having fun is most important. Winning and losing are not high on their list as it would be for most adults. Upward seeks to bring back the fun in playing team sports. Their motto is "Every Child is a Winner".

Children are evaluated before the season begins to determine skill level so that each team is evenly matched. They learn not only the skills of basketball and cheerleading, but they learn God's Word as well. Each week during practice the coach gives a brief devotional and the children learn a scripture verse.

Registration includes:

Basketball: t-shirt; reversible jersey; music CD; car magnet; end of season award

Cheer: uniform; megaphone; poms; car magnet; music CD; end of season award
